Online Quran Corner began in 2018, when founder Hafiz Muhammad Abid a Hafiz-ul-Quran since 2008, a graduate of the Alim Course, and Imam & Khateeb at Jamia Masjid Tasneem-e-Raza, Multan started teaching two neighbourhood children Noorani Qaida over a weekend video call, after their family struggled to find a qualified tutor nearby. Word spread quickly among other UK parents facing the same problem few local mosques had evening slots, and fewer still could confirm a tutor’s actual Ijazah before the first class. Within a year, Hafiz Abid had brought on a second tutor, then a third, each one verified the same way: a real certificate, checked against its issuing seminary, before a single lesson was booked. Before Online Quran Corner existed as a website, it existed as a habit: Hafiz Muhammad Abid teaching the Quran to whoever asked, in whatever room was available. That habit goes back to 2008, when he completed his own Hifz-ul-Quran, and continued through the Alim Course that followed. For over a decade now he has also held the role of Imam and Khateeb at Jamia Masjid Tasneem-e-Raza in Multan, delivering the Friday khutbah and leading the congregation in prayer a role that keeps his own recitation and scholarship under constant scrutiny, not just his students’. He carried that same accountability into how he built the academy: no tutor joins the team without their Ijazah being checked the way his own would be, against the seminary that issued it.

Alongside the Quran, students are taught the Fundamentals of Islam. They memorise 40 Ahadees and learn the Masnoon Duas for daily life the dua before and after eating, the dua for drinking milk, the dua before sleeping, the dua for leaving the house, and other essential everyday duas.
Seerat-e-Mustafa ﷺ is also taught, so that love for the Prophet ﷺ, following the Sunnah, and good akhlaq (character) take root in a child’s heart from an early age.

This training is compulsory for every teacher at Online Quran Corner.
